phew. tired.
just got home from st. augustine.
its weird saying that still....i miss it there alot.
some may find it boring, but it just shows me that i have a few more
years of slow town life left in me.
I had a really good time there, minus some drama brought on by alcohol.(no, not me)
i showed a homeless man in jacksonville my penis and followed him down the street
with my pants around my ankles. that my friends is what free shots of jack get you.
but...all good things come to an end. i really miss all those guys. tony and paul.
paul and i had just gotten in the full, stable "you know its not going anywhere" part
of our friendship as all the drama kicked in full swing.I still feel really horrible about
the way i handled all the stuff as far as meeting his needs as my friend. but o well.
i'm pretty sure he'd tell me if it bothered him.

Pedro The Lion (1997-2005)
Pedro The Lion has called it a day. The band which has had Dave Bazan as its only constant over the years, released Achilles Heel with the then solid lineup of multi-instrumental Tim Walsh, and bassist Ken Maiuri.
The main motiviation for the split is due to Walsh's reluctance to maintain the 100+ day per year touring schedule that the band demands. Consequently, frontman Dave Bazan has said that he will not continue to work under the name without Walsh and will be writing, recording and touring under his own name, and also on his electronic-tinged side project, Headphones.
The group is planning a web/show-only release for March before Bazan begins work on a Headphones full length for 2006 and a solo record for a projected 2007 release on Jade Tree.
and i just saw headphones and talked to dave and said i cant wait to see pedro again..fuck.

He died of a heart attack on the 22nd of december. it still makes me really really upset to think about it. i remember that day like it was yesterday. it felt like someone hit me in the chest with a baseball bat when i heard the news.. we miss you joe.

Gainesville, Florida's Against Me! have signed to Sire Records. The band confirmed rumours with a post to their website earlier this evening. They plan to release a new album on the Warner Music Group label in 2007.
The band released Searching For a Former Clarity earlier this year on Fat Wreck Chords. It was preceded by 2003's As The Eternal Cowboy and 2002's No Idea released Is Reinventing Axl Rose. Interestingly, the 2004 DVD release We're Never Going Home detailed the band's courtship by major label Universal and their ultimate decision to turn that deal down. Against Me's past with underground labels like the folk-punk promoting Plan-It-X as well as the heavily anarchistic slant in their early lyrics have made them one of the punk scene's more controversial acts, particularly as their profile and popularity has grown.
Sire Records was co-founded in 1966 by Seymour Stein and producer Richard Gottehrer. The label operated independently for a decade before signing a distribution deal with Warner Bros in 1976. From the late 70s and into the 90s the label was home to the Ramones, Dead Boys, the Talking Heads, the Smiths, the Flamin Groovies, the Replacements, the Cure and many other prominent early new wave and punk acts. In the 90s the label dissolved into Warner Bros and remained silent for a number of years, only to be resurrected in 2002 as a potential home for the Hives after they left Epitaph. While the Hives ultimately signed with Universal, the new Sire imprint, operated by Warner Bros Records / Reprise, became the current home of Less Than Jake, Hot Hot Heat, the Distillers, the Futureheads and others.

Why Men Don't Listen to Women
He really isn't listening to you! But you won't believe the reason why.
When men and women speak, the human brain processes the sounds of those voices differently, Britain's Mirror and Agence France Presse report of a new study from the U.K.'s University of Sheffield. While most of us actually hear female voices more clearly, men's brains hear women's voices first as music. But it's not music. It's someone giving them a honey-do list. So the brain goes into overdrive trying to analyze what is being said.
Bottom line: Men have to work harder deciphering what women are saying because they use the auditory part of the brain that processes music, not human voices. Men's brains are not designed to listen to women's voices. It's not the pitch of the woman's voice, but rather the vibration and number of sound waves that cause the problem, notes Discovery News.
But guys have no trouble at all hearing each other because men use a much simpler brain mechanism at the back of the brain to decipher another man's voice and recognize it as speech.
"The female voice is actually more complex than the male voice, due to differences in the size and shape of the vocal cords and larynx between men and women, and also due to women having greater natural 'melody' in their voices. This causes a more complex range of sound frequencies than in a male voice," lead researcher Michael Hunter told The Mirror. "When men hear a male voice they process it in the 'mind's eye.' This is the part of the brain where people compare their experiences to themselves, so the man is comparing his own voice to the new voice."
Here's a really bizarre side effect: These findings help explain why people who suffer hallucinations usually hear male voices. It's just too hard for the brain to create a false feminine voice as accurately as it can create a false masculine voice.

Continuing with a pattern of aggressive copyright enforcement, the Music Publisher's Association and publishing company Warner Chapell have begun a campaign against lyric and sheet music/tablature sites.
According to MPA president Lauren Keiser, the internet runs rife with unlicensed guitar tabs, song scores and lyric sites, all of which are "completely illegal." Keiser claims he does not just want sites shut down, but is also urging authorities to "throw in some jail time" as an additional detterent.
David Israelite, president of the National Music Publishers' Association, added his concerns:
Unauthorised use of lyrics and tablature deprives the songwriter of the ability to make a living, and is no different than stealing, Music publishers and songwriters will consider all tools under the law to stop this illegal behaviour.
News of the campaign comes shortly after a popular utility, pearLyrics was forced offline by Warner Chapell. The application retrieved lyrics for songs from the Internet and did not actually contain any lyrics itself.
Within the punk and hardcore genres, there are numerous sites specializing in lyrics and guitar tablatures and any or all of them could become targets for the campaign.

yesterday could not have been any worse.
